Yeah Yeah Yeahs, are a Grammy-nominated indie rock band from New York. The trio, comprising frontwoman Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase, has recorded and released five studio albums. The band spent their early days supporting other renowned rock acts, like The White Stripes and The Strokes. In 2001, they debuted their self-titled EP. The success of the record and the band’s relentless touring, and an appearance at the South by Southwest, later led to a record deal with Interscope records.
In 2003, Yeah Yeah Yeahs dropped their debut album, Fever To Tell. The highly-acclaimed record entered the Billboard 200, peaking at number 55. The album spawned several iconic hits, such as “Maps,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100, “Y Contro,” “and “Date with the Night.” After their phenomenal debut. Yeah Yeah Yeahs dropped several more highly-acclaimed studio efforts and soared through the Billboard 200 charts. In 2013, they released their highest-charting effort, Mosquito. The album, which spawned singles “Sacrilege” and “Despair,” peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Top Alternative and Rock Albums.
Last year, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their latest album, Cool It Down. The album is the band’s first independently released studio album. Hence, they debuted on Billboard’s Independent chart at number 6 and entered the Billboard 200 and the Top Rock Albums.
