Formed in 2000, Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade is a project that began when Les Claypool’s main band Primus went on hiatus. The group consists of rotating musicians with les Claypool being the only steady member. Current line up includes Sean Lennon, who has worked with Claypool in countless collaborations and other projects. The band has released two live albums and one studio effort, Purple Onion.
Les Claypool and Sean Ono Lennon had led this project since 2015. The band is an outlet for Claypool and Lennon’s psychedelic and progressive rock tendencies.
Primus is Les Claypool’s main band and has been a force in music since 1984. The band comprises three outstanding members with highly talented guitarist Larry Lalonde being there since 1989 and newly acquired drummer John Hoffman. Primus rose to prominence in the early 90s with second album Sailing the Seas of Cheese breaking into the Billboard 200. Although the album remained at a moderate charting placement, the album was an undeniable commercial success, selling over a million copies in the US. Their third album, Pork Soda, was a whole different story. The album broke into the Billboard 200 peaking at number 7, and also sold over a million copies. Over the years, Primus continued to release impressive studio albums, including their latest The Desaturating Seven, which was dropped in 2017.
